High frequency ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure that provides a detailed picture of the structure of the epidermis and dermis. The Dallas and Colorado Springs Research Centers have state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment for measuring skin thickness and density. Images can be recorded and transferred to CDs for viewing. High frequency ultrasound has been used successfully to study wound healing and measure changes in scar size, wrinkle/fine line reduction, and improvements in inflamed skin.
